November 2, 2025
Greetings Brothers and Sisters!
Elections are November 4th, and, as usual, we would like to offer our recommendations for the Lowell City Council and School Committee races. Among our recommended candidates, we are pleased to support current UTL Lowell High School teacher, Sean McDonough, candidate for City Council, and former UTL members Eileen DelRossi and Dave Conway, both School Committee incumbents.
Candidates for City Council and School Committee Recommendations
Hopefully, some or all of our recommendations will align with your personal choices. The most important thought to keep in mind is to GET OUT AND VOTE!!!
The People’s Forum, November 6th, 2025, 6:00-7:30 PM
We are excited to share that The People’s Forum will occur at the Lowell Senior Center next Thursday, November 6th, at 6:00PM. We have invited all school staff, students, parents, community members, elected officials, etc. The purpose of the Forum is to have conversations and discussions about what we believe students should have and know in order to receive a high school diploma. In November of 2024, Massachusetts voters went to the polls and voted out the MCAS requirement for high school students due to the punitive measures involved in this standardized test measurement. The state must now determine a new accountability measure that will be uniform throughout the state, and, at the same time, not penalize any students with learning or language differences.
Citizens for Public Schools is collaborating with regional school districts and communities to bring groups together to use their expertise in determining what they think our students need to know and be able to do when they graduate from high school.
Please be sure that your voice is heard in all of this by participating in this forum and bringing friends, colleagues, and students to give them a voice.
Kindly complete this RSVP FORM to let us know you will be attending so that we may have enough materials for the presentation and, also order enough FOOD for participants to enjoy!
With best regards,
Paul Georges
